In 2025 a scan found atherosclerosis in my aortic artery. I was not expecting it. I had no symptoms I'd taken seriously, and I'd spent years assuming I had more time to get around to my health than it turned out I did.
That diagnosis is the reason this site exists. Not because I have anything figured out — because I decided that if I was going to change how I live, I wanted an honest record of it. Something I couldn't quietly revise later to make myself look better.
What I'm actually doing
I workout 6-7 days a week alternating between strength training and cardio. My cardio generally consists of keeping my heart rate between 120-145 bpm. My research has shown that is the sweet spot to lower LDL cholesterol and more specifically ApoB (more on that later). I log my weight every morning as well as my exercise. I work out in a fasted state most days. I don't let the weather dictate my cardio or allow excuses to interfere anymore. My Diet is pretty simple, avoid too much saturated fat and sweets. I use an app to track my food called Macrofactor. I try to document everything I'm eating and doing.
I track it because memory is unreliable and flattering. Numbers aren't. Weight, bloodwork, workouts, what I ate, how I slept — it goes down whether or not it's a good week.
Finally, I am taking a regement of peptides. They are tools, some life changing, but they are just tools and not the holy grail.
Where things stand
The first ninety days produced changes I didn't expect to come that fast:
| Marker | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Body weight | 206 | 166 |
| Total cholesterol | 306 | 173 |
| Triglycerides | 180 | 89 |
I'll keep updating these as new bloodwork comes back, including the numbers that go the wrong way.
What this site is not
There is nothing for sale here. No coaching, no supplements, no program, no affiliate links, no course launching in the spring. If that ever changes I'll say so in plain language at the top of the page.
I'm also not a doctor, a dietitian, or a trainer. I'm one person with one set of arteries and one set of results. What worked on me may not work on you, and some of it may be actively wrong for you. Take the approach to your own physician before you take it anywhere else.
Who I am
A 54 year old male who has the two greatest grandkids in the world and I want to live as long as possible to see them grow. I have a passion for helping others and want to share my journey with as many people as possible.
